Eugenia Kim, born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and later attended Dartmouth College with plans to go into medicine. After completing college in 1996 and deciding to not pursue a medical career, Eugenia moved to New York City and enrolled at Parsons School of Design. In 1998, Eugenia created an inventive feathered cloche disguise to cover up a bad haircut, she was immediately targeted by multiple downtown boutique owners inquiring about her stylish and unique pieces. Soon after, brands like, Barneys New York placed their first order marking the official start of the Eugenia Kim brand. Other luxury retailers and global fashion publications immediately followed heralding Eugenia Kim's fresh, innovative point-of-view and in 2004, Eugenia was awarded the honor of 'Accessories Designer of the Year' by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Today the Eugenia Kim collection is available in more than 200 luxury retailers all over the world and regularly seen in the pages of major fashion publications, including Vogue, W and ELLE magazines. In addition to the main collection, Eugenia also offers several successful diffusion lines: genie by Eugenia Kim, Mr. Kim, and Kid Kim, making her a sought-after name throughout the accessories market.
